Show Extended telephone calling senice requested by citizens KAYSVILLE If you live in the southern end of Kaysville and have a 451 telephone prefix, you do not have toll-free service into the Ogden area. The 451 prefix services Farmington City and the Hess Farms subdivision of Kaysville. Residents in these areas want to see this situation changed, and they want the Kaysville City Council to become involved in working the problem out with U.S. West Communications Com-munications and the Utah Public Service Commission. Chad Marcensen, spokesman for 198 Kaysville residents who have a 451 telephone prefix, told the city council Tuesday evening that extended ex-tended area service would be most desirable for these residents. He pointed out that, of the 208 people contacted about signing the petition requesting council help to secure extended calling, only five opposed it. These people feared extended ex-tended calling into Ogden would result in losing the ability to call into Salt Lake. Marcensen said the people living in southern Kaysville have close ties with Ogden. Many work there and others attend Weber State University. Uni-versity. One resident, Marie Green, is a minister in Ogden. Her phone bill is close to $100 a month. |
