Show American i smokeout set Since 1985 Marshall Adams has educated approximately 9,130 students, lectured 82 hours, and traveled over 96 hours for a total for 2,145 miles. Adams, a volunteer for i the American Cancer Society, lost ! his voice to cancer and now speaks 1 with an artificial voice aid to his throat. Adams does many of his presentations presen-tations during the Great American Smokeout campaign. This year the Smokeout is Thursday, Nov. 15. The event, now 14 years old, is sponsored by the American Cancer Society. Adams will be awarded the American Cancer Society's Lifesaver Award next Tuesday at noon at the American Cancer Society Socie-ty office, 610 E. South Temple. The award is given once a year to a Public Pub-lic Education volunteer who has demonstrated exemplary and continuing conti-nuing volunteer services that encourage en-courage others to change their behavior to healthier lifestyles and to practice early cancer detection, thus saving lives.
