Show Goodies in Green Cool summer salads that make a meal SPAGHETTI SALAD 1 lb. spaghetti; curled or spiral, cooked til tender and drained. 1 16-oz. bottle Italian dressing Salad Supreme seasoning, to taste 2 tomatoes, cut up 1 cucumber, sliced thin 1 red onion, chopped 12 c. parmesan cheese Mix dressing ingredients, then toss with spaghetti and let set several hours in refrigerator to blend flavor. Ham or pepperoni or even broccoli pieces may be added for additional flavor. Serves 12 to 15. SPINACH SALAD 1 10-oz. spinach, wash and drain 1 can water chestnuts, sliced 1 can mandarin oranges 1 avocado chopped Chill all together. DRESSING 2 Tbsp. sesame seeds Vi cup oil lA cup soy sauce 2 Tbsp. lemon juice 2 Tbsp. grated onion Vi tsp. sugar Pepper to taste Add dressing to spinach mixture, mix-ture, toss gently, serve immediately. immedi-ately. SEVEN LAYER CRAB SALAD 1 head lettuce, shredded 1 cup sliced celery Vi cup green onions, sliced 1 8-oz. can water chestnuts, drained and sliced 1 10-oz. pkg. frozen peas Crab meat Layer all in a large bowl. Spread Vi cups mayonnaise over the top, cover and chill overnight. Sprinkle: 2 tsp. sugar and 1 tsp. seasoning salt over mayonnaise. Cover and chill overnight. Just be-' fore serving, sprinkle 1 cup grated cheese over top. |
