Show On July 10, 1988, a 46-year-old Salt Lake resident was beaten and then shot to death during an apparent robbery near the Peace Gardens at Jordan Park in Salt Lake City. Witnesses reported that the victim vic-tim was kicked in the chest while standing next to his 1977 brown Dodge van, then moments later saw several gunshots being fired at 10:50 p.m. The suspects were described as two male Tongans or Hispanics, both in their late teens or early twenties and roughly 6'0" in height. The witnesses originally believed that they were watching kids playing around and had observed the pair of suspects enter the park around 9:45 p.m., commit the crime, then leave on foot headed west through the park and then turn south onto Freemont Avenue. |
