Show Solutions to water problems sucessful in Layton City LAYTON Since July 7 when Layton City invoked water rationing, ration-ing, successful measures have been taken to restore the water ser- J vice to an acceptable level. Therefore, effective immediately, immediate-ly, the water restrictions for residents resi-dents of Layton are lifted. However, Howev-er, major water users such as schools and parks must still check with the city water department for their allowed watering times. Even though mandatory restrictions restric-tions are no longer needed, continued con-tinued conservative water usage is encouraged. The following suggestions are made to reduce water consumption: consump-tion: Grass height should be 2-3 inches. in-ches. Mow less often. Mow lawns on the day you water, and water immediately after mowing in the evening. Water more, 2-3 times a week rather than lightly each day, but don't flood your lawns. Let your edging and trimming go longer. Water in the cool hours for less evaporation. The cooperation of the residents and water users during the restricted res-tricted watering times was appreciated. |
