Show Mike Long Photography By TOM HARALDSEN BOUNTIFUL For over 10 years, Mike Long worked as a police officer in Los Angeles, the City of Angels. And as most any former L.A. cop will tell you, that city is far from its title. Those years did give Mike an interesting in-teresting perspective on people, however. When he chose to become be-come a photographer, his "people experiences" helped him create a largely successful business that has prospered in Bountiful since 1980. Today, Mike's location, at 144 S. Main Street, is often frequented by his large clientele of repeat customers. custom-ers. His photos of LDS Temples are known virtually worldwide, and his unique ability to work with lighting as it relates to bone structure struc-ture has made his portraits extremely ex-tremely popular. "I'm very creative in how I shoot my photos," he said. "People "Peo-ple differ so much in the bone structures of their faces. When I was interning, the photographer I worked with told me that fye'd never nev-er seen anyone who could read and use lighting the way I can. So I've always felt that that was one of my strengths." Mike specializes in weddings, family portraits and individual por- .3 traits, but also dabs in aerial and " catalog photography. He chose 1 Bountiful as the place to open his business eight years ago "because '. the people here are a cut above others in the area. I knew Bountiful was where I wanted to be." ;j Mike Long Photography is open Tuesday through Friday from 11 j a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. .' |
