Show Newton to speak at fireside FARMINGTON Dr. Miller Newton, world renowned aui thority and a successful clinical director for adolescentdrug users, will speak at a community fireside Aug. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Farmington Junior High School auditorium. Dr. Newton is the founder and director of KIDS, Inc., a medical hospital and long-term rehabilitation center with headquarters head-quarters in New Jersey. The family oriented KIDS centers are located throughout the United States and a facility is planned within the next year in the Salt Lake Valley. Purpose of the center is to treat and provide long-term rehabilitation in a "family atmosphere." Dr. Miller, who is author of two books, "Not My Kid," and "Gone Way Down: Teenage Drug Use Is A Disease," will speak on adolescent drug use and compulsive behavior among the youth. The lecture will be sponsored by KIDS of the Great Salt Lake, a local chapter of KIDS, Inc. There are presently 22 Intermountain Area Families with children attending or who have attended the treatment and rehabilitation center in New Jersey. |
