Show Lyman K. Porter ,1111;; Lyman Karl Porter, 74, passed away Sunday, July 24, 1988. He was born March 31, 1914 in Salt Lake City, a son of Joseph Smith and Elizabeth Lambert Porter. Por-ter. He married B. Bernice Peterson Peter-son Sept. 14, 1939 in the Logan LDS Temple. He had been an electronic engineer en-gineer for Sperry Univac, retiring after 23 years of service. He was reared and educated in Salt Lake City; lived in Bountiful for the past 31 years. He traveled extensively throughout the world. He received a degree in electronic engineering. He was an active member of the Bountiful 7th LDS Ward. He served a mission to the Northwestern Northwest-ern States. He was an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Tem-ple. He sang with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for 39 years and with the Jay Welch Chorale until the time of his death. He worked at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on the Apollo project. His loves were his family, music and travel. He is-survived by his wife, Bountiful; Boun-tiful; sons and spouses, Lynn K. and Barbara Porter, Bountiful; Robin K. and Kris Porter, San Jose, Calif.; ten grandchildren; brother and sister, O. Lambert Porter; Dot Holt, both of Salt Lake City. I Funeral directors, Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary. Funeral services were held July 28 with Bishop Stan Elmer offi-j offi-j ciating. Brady and Elder F. Burton Howard; "Crossing "Cros-sing the Bar" by the Jay Welch Chorale accompanied by Joyce Shaum; benediction, John Haacke. Dedication of the grave was by Lambert Porter with interment in the Salt Lake City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Craig Gold, Bruce Gold, Dan Gold, Corey Peterson, Richard Peterson, Stephen Peterson, Laddie Hauck and Tim Hauck. |
