ASK SPECIAL HONORS FOR CIVIL WAR VETS The National. Security League, of which Elihu Root is the honorary president, has written to Governor Bamberger, - asking ( him to lend his assistance and cooperation coopera-tion in the league's endeavor to have the veterans 01 the civil war especially honored hon-ored this year on Memorial day. Being the most momentous Memorial dy in tho history of the nation, following the successful suc-cessful conclusion of the Great War, the league asks that special respect be paid to the Grand Army veterans who are now "inarching to the final roll call." Governor Bamberger has replied that he is heartily in sympathy with the movement, and that he will do what he can to urge upon civic organizations the appropriate observance of Memorial day, 1 making it a special occasion of respect and honor for the remaining veterans of the Grand Army of the Republic.
