Show JEWS IN PROTEST AGAINST POGROMS NEW YORK, May 21.--Madison Square Garden rocked tonight to the enthusiastic cheering of 3 5,000 Jews assembled In mass meeting in protest against reported widespread wide-spread pogroms in Slavic Europe, when Cha,rle3 Evan Hughes, speaking of appeals ap-peals to the United States to aid In putting put-ting an end to' the massacres, said: "If America stands for anything in her service to humanity, then now let America Amer-ica speak!" Resolutions were adopted urging the peace- conference to "take such steps as thai I provide to the Jewish inhabitants in Poland, Rumania, and other eastern luropean couni-ries, enforceable guarantees guaran-tees of full civil, religious and political rights, and such, rnincrlly rights as ore enjoyed by the co-inhabitant national groups of these countries."
