Show ATTITUDE TO SOLDIER EXPLAINED IN POSTER "Sentiment Versus Sense" is a motto adopted by the home service department of the Red Cross. A recent poster just sent out to enable the people to more fully understand the work of this department states there are three ways of treating the returning disabled soldier with total indifference, unthinking sentimentality and friendly interest tempered by common com-mon sense. It states friendly interest must be manifested mani-fested wherever and whenever possible toward the crippled soldier, as the community com-munity dare not be either indifferent or sentimental. ".Every disabled soldier shouid be encouraged to take advantage of restorative govern ment agencies medical, educational and industrial," the poster says. To do this, officials say, united cooperation is sought, so tiiat men who need at ten tion may be sent to the home service office for consideration and information. |
