Show EMERALD ARRANGES TO INCREASE FORCE Officials of the Emerald Mining company, com-pany, operating in the Tintic district, who returned early this week from a trip of inspection of tho property, said yesterday yester-day that tho latest developments were so highly encouraging that It had been decided to increase tho working force in a considerable degree and to continue the work with redoubled speed. During the last few months the operations opera-tions have been largely confined to the 1000-foot level of the mine and there is strong evidence that the miners are within the immediate vicinity of the intersection in-tersection of the north-south fissure with the east-west break. According to the engineers' survey this intersection would have been reached several days ago, but the "dip" of the country at this depth was greater than appeared on the. surface and the upper levels of the mine. The miners, however, are already In vein matter that is more than 5 feet wide, with better than 18 inches of cal-cite cal-cite that carries values In both silver and gold. In the opinion of both the nie superintendent and mine experts who have recently visited the property another an-other round of two shots should show the ore -bearing formation at the objective. In view of the fact that all of the rock, even the hardest of the lime, carries some values in gold and silver and that the calclte is the formation which the Grand Central, followed to its biggest ore bodies, the general outlook at the Emerald Em-erald is regarded as highly pleasing. |
