Tiie committee nnnounced today that Rich-nrds's Rich-nrds's roRtornlion to amateur stnndinjr will become be-come effective on May 24, when his connection connec-tion with the firm ends. The committee issued the following statement: state-ment: "Vincent Richards has resigned his position In the snorting: goods business. "It has been proved to the Hfitisfuction of the amateur rules committee that Mr. Richard Rich-ard s's name was used to advert! ao the sale of tennis goods without his authority, and his action in withdrawing from the sporting goods business has removed all other Questions as to his amateur standing.
