Show i COMPLETE LIE HT TIM DISPLAY Local Distributors to Feature Fea-ture All Power Wagon Models. The complete line of 3Taah trucks manufactured by tho Nash Motors : company of ECenosha, Wis., will be ex- hibited by tho Pacific Nash Motor com- j pnny at the auto show at Bonneville Park this week. Three models comprise1 the N'asli line the one and two-ton trucks and the famous Nash Quad, which driven, brakes and steers ou all j four wheels. "Nash trucks are built according to most approved practices of truck con- 1 struction," states Manager C. J. Simp- son of the Pacific Nash Motor company, I local Nash distributors, valid," con-! tinued Mr. Simpson, "the satisfactory' performance of Nash trucks in daily ! service, and their unusually low cost to operate, is due in no. small measure, to the fact that they are equipped with ' tho automatic locking differential. I "Briefly, this differential prevents the spinning of either rear wheel, no matter what resistance its mate may be ' encountering. It thus gives the wheel s with traction adequate power to pull , tho truck out of trouble. "It is also a safeguard against skidding. skid-ding. Neither rear wheel can ever turn 1 raster than the other because it haB lost traction. On slippery roads or pave-' ments, whoro momentarily one . wheel j loses traction, the truck is never thrust i sideways by tho powor of the other i wheel. j " vrhen one drive wheel of the truck with ordinary type of differential gets mired, or into deep snow, it receives very little, if any, power to help itself out. For, because this wheel is getting the greatest traction resistance, the power, taking the easiest course, is all going to the other wheel so fast that it loses traction altogether and spins, leaving both wheels without driving power, and putting the truck out of service until it receives aid. j "With the automatic locking differ-! ential on Nash trucks the wheel with the greatest traction, gets the greatest power. On tho straightaway, the instant in-stant one wheel starts to travel faster thaD the other, the differential locks automatically. The drive axle becomes, for all practical purposes, a solid one, and the power of the motor is distributed dis-tributed to the wheels in the exact pro-1 portijn to the traction they are getting. I Thus, when one wheel becomes mired, or meets a slippery spot, the other wheel with traction drives the truck forward." |
