Squire Coop, musical director of tlie Salt Lake Oratorio society, has addressed ad-dressed the following self-explanatory letter to the vocalists of the city: "The Salt Lake Oratorio society is endeavoring to unite the musical talent tal-ent of the "city, for the purpose of celebrating cel-ebrating victory and peace. "It believes that a concert or musical musi-cal festival, something on a grand , scale, might be properly required of j the musicians upon the consummation j of peace. "The Salt Lake Oratorio society, being be-ing representative of all classes of i citizens and of none in particular, is the logical organization to take the I lead in this matter. ' ' This society has selected 1 Judas Maccabaeus,' by Handel, as an appropriate appro-priate work for such an occasion. I 1 i You- are cordially invited to as- sist and by your presence make it clear that you i'avor the idea of a united effort on tbe part of tho musical musi-cal men and women of this city to contribute something of importance to the public life.
