RUMLER, fence buster extraordinary, arrived in Salt Lake yesterday from his home in Nebraska. Sergeant Runiler, who henceforth hence-forth is destined to be known as Bill, is the first to arrive of the Bee ball players whom Manager Eddie Herr rounded up in the east. Bill will leave today on the Western Pacific for Pittsburg. He is rarin' to go. Rumler was in tho service nine months, and was discharged December 15. His military trainintt. lie says, put him In the best condition he has ever known, and he pronounces himself fit for any kind of work Skipper Herr demands of him. It is likely that Bill will he played in the outfield, although he is a catcher of marked ability. He has hit .300 and away beypnd for years, and he is still a mere youth. He hopes to. hit up to the .300 mark again this year. Rumler was obtained from the St. Louis Americans. In 1017 lie was used as substitute catcher for the Browns and as pinch hitter. As a backstop he made good in about forty games, but with Hank Severeid in shape to catch regularly regu-larly for the Brownies a second -string man has little chance to break in.
