Show LAST HONORS PAID TO MRS. PARDIEU Rev. D. A. Brown of the First Baptist church conducted the funeral services over tho remains of the' late Mrs. Jennie Jen-nie L. Pardieu yesterday afternoon at tho funeral parlors of Eber W. Hall. The music was furnished by a chorus of twenty small girls from the Baptist church, Mrs. Pardleu's little girl having been a member of the chorus. Tho burial took place in Mt. Olivet cemetery'. Mrs, Pardieu died a few days ago from a cancerous affection of the stomach, from which she liad long been a sufferer. The family was in destitute circumstances, and havo depended for Eome time upon the charity of neighbors and friends. The husband and father la now near to death's door with rheumatism, rheu-matism, and the attending physician 3ays there is no hope for his recovery. Readers of Tho Tribune will remember remem-ber reading of the little girl who sang in one of tho cheap theaters not long since In an effort to raise- money to buy a few necessities for her sick mother. It was the little Pardieu girl, for whom a home has since been found in this city. A boy of 10 years is now practically practi-cally lefc without a home, and Rev. Mr. Brown is looking for a home for the little fellow, who is said to be bright and unusually worthy. |
