Show STAR CON. INTERESTS IN SPECIAL SESSION A mecCing of shareholders of the Star Consolidated Mining company was held In the offices of CapL T. Egan yesterday yester-day afternoon for the purpose of discussing dis-cussing tho proposition to equip its Tlntic properties with a plant with which to chlorinate its ores, the consideration con-sideration , exacted by the proponents a half Interest In Its holdings. The chair wa3 occupied by Capt, Egan, the secretary's desk by Harry Joseph. The meeting developed a very pronounced pro-nounced opposition to the plan, as It had been communicated to the shareholders, share-holders, and after exhaustive discussion It was referred to a committee consisting consist-ing of Prof. Marcus E. Jones, J. P. Turner and Henry R. Ellis, who will thresh It out with those from whom the proposition emanates, confer with tho shareholders and report baok to the latter at tho annual meeetlng on Thursday. Thurs-day. In the discussion the Packard interests inter-ests wero represented by Secretary Packard, by whom tho meeting was assured as-sured that his side was actuated solely by what It conceived to bp to the interests inter-ests of the whole-Prof. whole-Prof. Carmlohaol, who has long been Identified with the use of chlorine in the recovery of the metals, was also a ypeakor, whilo in tho general discussion discus-sion many participated. A resolution was adopted that it was the sense of those present that nil own-Ins own-Ins or representing shares In the company com-pany bo permitted to take part In, tho annual meeting on April 14th.
