Show MANAGER WHITLEY AT HOME AGAIN That the American Smelting Refining Re-fining company proposes to abandon the construction of a copper plant with which to reduce ores of that class In Salt Lako valley because of any agreement agree-ment to exchange ores with the Bingham Bing-ham Con-, ho has had no intimation whatever, said Manager C W. Whitley on liis return from Montana yesterday. On the contrary his information Is that the mechanical englneors are yet working work-ing assiduously on the plans for It, and that it will be built as exploited by the officials when they were last here ho has no reason to belipvo other. During his absence Manager Whitley epexri much of tho time at the Helena smelter, where Frank Smith, agreeably recalled by producers as a former assistant as-sistant manager of American Interests hero, Is now reducing pearly 20.00D tons of ore monthly. While conditions for some months In Montana havo been quiet, Mr. Whitley reports them Bteadily improving. |
