Many of the citizens believe that the city needs a city hall, which is well taken care of and a credit to the community. The city officials are entitled to a satisfactory place in which to convene and for the citizens to do their business. Other people believe that there is no happiness in the summer without Little League and activities for the boys of the city. Still other citizens believe that happiness comes from seeing people enjoying the new tennis courts and the jr. Olympics. Still others are enjoying watching their children of all ages grow creatively in the recreation program. And others are happy to provide worthwhile activities for the senior citizens of the community. com-munity. Fortunately, all of the people can live together happily. hap-pily. Girls of the First Ward, who were planning to attend Camp Piuta this month, had a good time getting ready for the event. Terri Madsen and Gloria Stephens were two of the leaders who were helping to plan the days for the girls. Remember the Stake blood drive Aug. U and Education Week July 14, 15 and 16. The Byron Rancks are back in town after serving a mission to Cumberland, Kentucky. The Cub Pack Meeting of the Second Ward will be held this Friday evening at 7 p.m. Kathy Monson and her family were happy to entertain their friend Claudia Daw of San Jose, Calif. Currently she is attending BYU. Congratulations to Dave and Barbara Hawk in the birth of their new baby girl. The Cub Scouts of the Fourth Ward are visitine at Timpan-ogos Timpan-ogos Cave today Friday, July 15. The boys are under the direction of the Dautels and are excited that they are wearing wear-ing their scout shirts and are being well fed. The Cub Pack Meeting of the Fourth Ward will be held Friday, July 29 at 7: 30 p.m. at the West Bountiful Bowery. Fun, games, races and refreshments will be enjoyed. Parents are asked to attend with their boys. The Bishop Hess' spent a few days in Carlin, Nev. with Ver-nile's Ver-nile's brother, Deloy Hess and his wife Colleen. The Harold Drawes were pleased this week to greet their son, Walter Borschel, who had returned home from a mission to Arizona. He will attend at-tend school at Weber State. The Drawes were also happy to have a couple from Price, the McArthurs, come to visit with them. The son had been a missionary to Germany. The McArthurs visited in Germany Ger-many this summer. They were able to visit with Lucie's mother, Mina Schoen. The Joe Kirtons had a great 4th of July as they vacationed at Payson Lake. The children fished while the parents enjoyed en-joyed the beauty of nature. Joe was feeling better after being ill with a case of pneumonia. Elva Stringham is hurriedly sewing a quilt for her sister Grace's daughter, Kay Strand's wedding. She will be married July 30. Bud, Elva and Robert recently entertained the Takasaki family of Oyama, Japan. Agness B. Mangus had a fun experience last Wednesday, as she assumed her role of an In-, In-, dian woman. She attended the Primary of the Fourth Ward and told stories and incidents concerning the history of the Red Man in America. The girls of the Third and Fourth Wards will attend camp at Camp Piuta July 26-29. The older girls are training the younger girls to prepare in first aid and camping camp-ing skills. The Relief Society of the Fourth Ward enjoyed a special day this week. Chyree Stokes and Teri Slater planned a home show. |
