Show i . s , . ..- !' I ' - X 1 ) i ; I . . - ! HKCKI LYN HAMBLIN GRAFiD MARSHAL Miss Becki Lyn Hamblin has been named "Grand Marshal" of the 1977 Bountiful Boun-tiful Handcart Days Parade. MISS Hamblin, age 14, from Poy, the daughter of Carl and Joyce Hamblin, has gained international in-ternational fame as a gymnast and tumbler. Her achievements in this field of competition have been outstanding out-standing and have brought worldwide acclaim to herself, to the state of Utah, and to the nation. At the early age of 14, Becki Lyn is recognized as one of the world's great competitors in gymnastics and tumbling. SHE PLACED first in world tumbling competition in her age group in California. She placed second in the world tumbling meet in the Canadian open against all age j groups. She competed in the Volkov Meet in Piga, Russia in 1975 where she placed second in international in-ternational competition, just one-tenth of a point behind the ! "2year-old Russian winner. I i BECKI Lyn's achievements have been written up in "Sports Illustrated." She has appeared on national television and will soon be featured fea-tured in a National Geographic article. Becki Lyn is a straight "A" student in school and will serve as the studentbody vice president next year. GORDON Johnson, parade committee chairman, reports that Miss Hamblin will be Grand Marshal over the most spectacular "Bountiful Handcart Hand-cart Days Parade," yet. The paradewill feature 40floats, 22 marching bands, and a wide array of other crowd pleasing entries. The parade will be presented present-ed Friday, July 22 at 6: 30 p.m. The parade route is north on Main Street to Third North and then south to Center Street on First West. There will be no parking along the parade route between the hours of 5: 30 p.m. and Sp.m. by order of the Bountiful Police. LATE parade entries can contact Gordon Johnson at 295-5733. |
