Show Fishing: Late Waters Opening Several popular fishing spots in Utah open later than the general fishing season. Opening dates vary but are usually either July 1 or July 1 5. Herewith is a listing of these areas and the general conditions condi-tions accompanying the opening: open-ing: -ALL tributaries entering Flaming Gorge between the Reservoir and Highway 44 (except that reach of Cart Creek above Speirs Peak Creek) opened for fishing July 1 and remain open through Sept. 30. Current water conditions condi-tions are fair. The Strawberry River from Soldier Creek Dam downstream to its confluence with Red Creek opens for fishing July 15 and remains open through Sept. 15. The fishing and water prospects look good. -THE West Fork of the Duchesne River and all tributaries tribu-taries leading to Strawberry Reservoir opened on July 1. The water is relatively low but fishing is expected to remain lair. --Bear Lakes Swan Creek and adjacent Swan Creek Bay will open July 15 and will be open until the close of the general fishing season. Extremely low water condi- . tions already prevail. -THE Current Creek drainage from Highway 40 to the source also opened for fishing on July 1. The water level is low with some moss problems, but the fishing should remain good. -Red Creek Lake and the creek leading into the lake opened on July 1. Water conditions condi-tions there are low. -CALDERS Lake on Diamond Mountain north of Vernal opened July 1. Fishing is excellent in the small lake located about one mile west of Crouse Reservoir. Water level is currently stable. --The Strawberry River from the Strawberry Dam downstream to Soldier Creek is again open to fishing. UTAH Division of Wildlife Resources is urging anglers to check the proclamation for specific boundaries on these and other fishing areas with special regulations. |
