Show A superintendent of the Mutual Mu-tual organization for Woods Cross Stake has been sustained. sus-tained. Lincoln Haacke will head that organization, with Steig Whitney and Ron Ford as counselors. Secretary is Dennis Den-nis Hicks. Pack 538 Cub Scouts held their summer family picnic at city park recently with special activities including the Olympics. Olym-pics. Winners for total points in the baseball throw, broad jump, obstacle course and 50-yard 50-yard dash were Brian Hintch for 8-year-olds; J. A. Healey , for the 9-year-olds; and Bret Taylor for the 10-year-olds. The event was under the direction of cub master, Tom Atkin and den mothers, Jackie. Lindquist, Berdine Atkin and Vickie Pulsipher. Former Cahoon Acres residents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pearson were hosts on Friday evening for a wedding reception recep-tion to honor their daughter Robyn and Mike Larsen who were married that day in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and honored at a reception in Hunter that evening. Many former neighbors and friends of the family were on hand for the occasion. Mrs. Amelia Felix is responding re-sponding well following open heart surgery performed at the LDS Hospital recently. She is still at the hospital but hopes to return home very soon. Get well wishes are sent her way from her many friends in the area. Mrs. Pauline Lowe and son Bobby enjoyed a weekend in Yellowstone where they met family members from California Califor-nia for a reunion and tour of the park. Sorry to have the Donald Koehns leave the area. They have moved to Africa where Mr. Koehn is involved in engineering en-gineering with an international interna-tional firm. They have lived in the Briarwood area for the past three years while Mr. Koehn completed work on the Kennecott smoke stack. Mrs. Koehn has been involved in-volved in community affairs and had also been a teacher at Stoker Elementary. The family will certainly be missed by their many friends in the area. Mrs. Verlene Turner and children recently traveled to San Clemente, California to visit with Mr. and Mrs. George (Jerry) Murphy and also attended at-tended the naming and blessing bless-ing of the Murphy's daughter Amanda. This past weekend Jerry visited her parents and also accompanied them to Genola, for the Steven's family reunion. It's five generations for Mrs. Winnie Whitecar. She received word this past week that great-grandson Marvin Fluckiger and wife Edna became parents of their first child, to be named Angela. Birthdate was July 5 in Logan, with the new one weighing in at 71bs. Grandparents are Brent and Ruthie Fluckiger, great-grandparents great-grandparents are LaVon and Alvin Fluckiger, all of Logan and great-great-grandmother is Mrs. Winnie Whitecar. She also notes that her first greatgrandchild great-grandchild is the parent of her first great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Carol McBride and five children enjoyed a two-week vacation visiting with relatives rela-tives in Boise, Idaho and the Lewiston, Idaho area. |
