The Golden Years Center was formally dedicated on July 9 with approximately 500 attending the dedication and program and calling in during the afternoon to tour the new facilities. THE orchestra was at its best under the direction of Marvin Strong, providing music for many hours, for the pleasure of guests. A number of new members joined the Center and plan to take part in the many activities activi-ties and programs provided for all citizens 55 years of age and up. THE schedule for July is well underway and lunch will be served daily at the Center. Call 295-3479 to make reservations. reserva-tions. The LaMarr Hart Chapter of China Painters, who are also members of the Center, hosted the State China Painters Organization Or-ganization on Thursday, in the Bountiful City Park, with Edna Ed-na Clark president of the local chapter. THERE was a business meeting of the organization followed by lunch and a social afternoon. Each day of the week there are a variety of activities, so all the senior citizens are invited in-vited to join the Center and enjoy en-joy the hospitality and take advantage of the classes and programs provided. ONE OF the big events is the "Mash" to be held July 21, with luncheon of roast beef and other good food on the menu. After lunch from 11:30 a.m. until 12: 30 p.m., there will be dancing which will continue until 3 p.m. Get your tickets and come enjoy a pleasant afternoon. af-ternoon. On July 25, there will be the celebration of July birthdays, come in for cake and special recognition on that day. THE FESTIVAL of the American West is scheduled for July 30 in Logan. More information in-formation is available at the Center for this annual trek to Logan. It is now time to make plans for the Davis County Fair to be held at Lagoon Aug. 18, 19, and 20 with Senior Citizen Day on Friday the 19th . ANYONE planning to enter exhibits for the fair should be getting them ready. There will be three divisions again, art, 'crafts and home arts and handwork. Only three exhibits from one exhibitor in each division. Call in for additional details and do plan to enter some of your handwork . A. W. Reynolds of Clearfield is chairman of the Senior Citizen Ci-tizen Division at the fair. Lunch will be served in the Gaslight Terrace this year, just south of the Opera House and will be a much easier place to get to. THE exhibits must be ready , by August 15, so if you have not made your plans for the fair, . begin to get your handwork ready. Some of the regular classes are continuing and other classes will start in September. Sep-tember. When the new bulletin is ready it will be mailed with many fall affairs, tours and special events. CHECK your July and August bulletin for the events coming up and try to attend special features planned for your pleasure.
