AKo in the picture is MaryLee Longhair, it Trading Pos wins seven i Ira a row arad picec 1st Trading Post of Fort Hall was knocked off in its first game in the All Indian Women's Basketball Tournament Tour-nament in Fort Duchesne by Wild Horse of Nevada, 64 to 55, but the Idaho team didn't give up as they won seven games in a row to capture first place in the tournament, Saturday. The Trading Post crew thumped the American Feathers of Colorado, Friday and downed Fort Duchesne's U & O Eagle, 66 to 45; Wild Horse, 75-50; Fort Duchesne's Jayhawks, 52 to 37; Walker River Lakers of Schurz, Nev., 88 to 37 and thumped the Cougarettes of Wyoming, 51 to 42, in the first championship cham-pionship game and 71 to 51 in the second championship game. A 27 to 22 lead was owned by the undefeated Cougarettes at the end of the first half in the first championship game. Annie Marshall and Binky Dixey put in two field goals to tie up the game at 30 points early in the second half. Marshall connected on two free throws to give Trading Post a 32 to 30 advantage ad-vantage and added a field goal for a 34-30 34-30 lead. Trading Post fired in five more points for a 39 to 30 advantage. The Cougarettes cut the Trading Post's lead to four points at 42 to 38, but Josie Decker put in two free throws and Dee Dixey fired in a field goal for a 48 to 38 lead. The Trading Post crew put in three more points to make the final score in the first game, Trading Post, 51 and Cougarettes, 42. Lynette Dixey was the top scorer for the Trading Post crew with 13 points. Binky Dixey fired in 12 points and Decker put in eight points. Also scoring points were: Dee Dixey, 7; Annie Marshall, 7; Lea Dixey, 2 and Glenda Marshall, 2. Trading Post fired in 18 field goals and hit 15 out of 31 free throws. The Trading Post team decided that they had come too far after winning five games in a row to suffer a loss in their final game so they gained their sixth win in one day as they bombed the Cougarettes, 71 to 51 in the second championship game. A slim lead of 17 to 16 was owned by the Trading Post midway in the first half and Arimajo had a chance to tie up the contest at 17 points with a successful suc-cessful free throw attempt, but she failed to convert on the charity toss. The Trading Post crew displayed their happiness of still having a one point lead of 17 to 16 by staging a 13 to 2 massacre, which gave them a 30 to 18 lead at the end of the first half. Dee Dixey ripped the hoop for seven points on three field goals and one free throw in the 13-point Trading Post eruption and Lynette Dixey, Annie Marshall and Decker added two points each. Wyoming's Cougarettes' cut the Trading Post lead to ten points, 38 to 28, early in the second half, but the crew from Idaho blistered the Cougarettes, 33 to 23 in the rest of the game to win the championship contest by 20 points. Dee Dixey was the top scorer in the game with 23 points. She fired in ten field goals and hit 3 out of 6 free throws. Glenda Marshall poured in 21 points. She hit 5 out of 5 free throws and put in eight field goals. Also scoring points for the Trading Post team were Lynette Dixey, 12; Binky Dixey, 7; Annie Marshall, 6 and Lea Dixey, 2. The Trading Post team fired in 30 field goals and hit 11 out of 16 free throws. Harris was the high point woman for the Cougarettes with 17 points. Arimajo and Ridley put in 12 points. Shoyo scored eight points and Maxine LaRose fired in two counters. The Cougarettes hit 24 field goals and hit 3 out of 5 free throws. The Cougarettes captured second place in the Ute Tribe Tournament.
