Show Country Meadows enjoys egg hunt April 16 at Country Meadows Early Education Center offered ample proof that the Easter Bunny will come through regardless of weather. In spite of the occasional rain torrents, approximately sixty children and visitors gathered hidden Easter Bunny eggs with the able assistance of Egbert the Easter Chicken and Mr. E. Bunny, himself. The activity began at 2 p.m. with the children singing and dancing their favorite Easter songs, "Here Comes Peter Cottontail," and "Egbert the Easter Egg." Mrs. Oviatt read the Easter classic, "The Tale of Peter Rabbit" and "The Golden Egg Book." The children were then divided into three age groups with the 4-5 children participating in the "difficult hunt' where 48 eggs were carefully hidden on the school playground to challenge these searching minds. The hunt for the 2-3 year old children took place in the front yard where the giant Easter Bunny was on hand to collect the eggs as the children gathered them. Egbert the Easter Chicken assisted the 4-5 year old children with their hunt in the shrubbery on the south and west yards. When all eggs had been gathered, the children escorted their honored guests to the school playroom where each child received Easter eggs and sugar treats in his own bunny basket which he had made earlier in the week. The children then visited with the Easter personalities until it was once more time to bid Mr. Bunny and Egbert farewell until next year when they will once again make their appearance during the annual Country Meadows Easter Egg Hunt.
