Ashley pioneer spirit prevails for Rasmussens At the Willard Rasmussen home this spring, 46 lambs were born to 23 ewes. Willard keeps 24 ewes and this spring 23 of them had lambs. One had quadruplets, 6 had triplets, the rest had either twins or single lambs. Willard Rasmussen at 72 keeps busy with his livestock, a small farm and large garden. He was born in Jensen and married Nora Long in 1928. They have two sons, Willard Jr., (Bill) and David. Their home was built 46 years ago by Willard in the Ashley area on the homestead of William S. Powell, Nora's grandfather who came to the Ashley Valley in the 1807's. When first built.' the home had a dirt roof, which was . later replaced. The logs for the home were cut by Willard and hauled off the mountain by team and wagon. |
