Show More reasons for selling hospital Dear Editor: I, too, am a "concerned citizen" of this community. Iam deeply concerned for the future of the medical services that we need in this area . As we face the question "to Sell" or "Not to Sell", a few things become very evident to me. Almost 100 percnet of the medical community those people involved in delivering health care have come out in definite support of the sale of our County Hospital. All of our local established physicians have issued a formal statement in favor of the sale with their reasons supporting the transaction. All department heads of our County Hospital along with the Hospital Board of Directors have joined the physicians and fully support this sale. The County Commissioners are elected officials. When faced with a decision they deliberate the alternatives alter-natives and seek advice and "input" from those people most directly involved in-volved with the results of that decision in this case, the medical community. Upon recommendation from the Hospital Board, local physicians, etc., added to their own research, these elected commissioners accepted an offer from Hospital Corporation Cor-poration of America to buy our present facility-for the best good of the citizens in our area. Another "hot" issue seems to be the "give away" price. There is quite a difference at times lietwoen "appraised value" and "market value" of anv item you have for sale. Three years ago I had a house for sale- appraised by local realtors for n given price. After a year of frustration wo sold this house, without a realtor, for a MUCH lower price in order to "save our shirts." Besides the fact that the land under the hospital Is leased or donated by the LPS Church with tlx' stipulation that it bo used for a health rare facility (therefore not FOR SALE) and the fact that Uintah County Hospital has never pioneered n fantastic medical reputation, we don't really have a "hot Hem" to put on the market nt a fantastically fan-tastically Inflated price (Sale price depends on what n qualified buver agrees to pay.) - c. i Private enterprise , in a democracy.
