Show M. Maxwell called on LDS Mission Mark Dean Maxwell has been called on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He will serve in the Canada, Calgary Mission. He will enter the Mission Home in Salt Lake City on December 10, 1977. Mark is the son of former Cedar City residents Dean and Orell Maxwell. Grandparents Grand-parents are Mr. and Mrs. William Merryweather and Mrs. Olive Maxwell and the late Rex D. Maxwell. Sunday, November 20, Mark was honored at a family dinner in his home, after which he spoke in Sacrament Meeting in the South Cottonwood Fourth Ward. He will fly to Calgary on December 15, 1977. Mark is an Eagle Scout, a member of the Order of the Arrow, and holds the Duty to God and On My Honor Awards. He graduated from Cottonwood High School in June 1977. He was on the bowling and chess teams at Cottonwood High School. Mark has served as President of his Deacon's Quorum and as First Assistant to the Bishop in the Priests Quorum in his ward. He was patrol leader and senior patrol leader in Scout Troop 293 and served as post president in his Venturer and Explorer posts. In 1976 he attended the National Explorer President's Congress in Washington, D.C. |
