Show Literary Club PA ROW AN - Jean Hen-drickson Hen-drickson presented some very interesting facts about Thanksgiving as she gave the lesson Nov. 30 in the Parowan Literary Club meeting held at the home of Nell Bentlev. 't he coming of the Seagulls to save crops tor the early Utah Pioneers led to the First Thanksgiving feast in Utah. At Parowan the first Thanksgiving dinner was attended by Indian Chief Kanarra and his people. Music for the evening at the club meeting included two Thanksgiving songs and America The Beautiful, sung by the members present. Anna Cox sang a solo of "God Bless America," accompanied by Melva Barton. Golda Guymon read a tribute she had written to honor Alice C. Mitchell who is leaving on an LDS mission to Canada. Refreshments were served to the group by Mrs Bentley. Hostesses were Nellie Bentley and Georgia Mitchell. Porogram was by Jean Hendrickson, Pae Benson, Delia Gurr, Kathleen Mitchell Abrams was a special guest. |
