Show Peter Cook seeks Congressional Seat Peter Cook, an announced candidate for the Democratic candidacy for the United States House of Representative, visited in Cedar City this past week to confer with party leaders on issues and to congratulate the strong showing of the party in the Cedar City Municipal Election. Cook, is a business administrator ad-ministrator with Tracy Collins Bank in Salt Lake City. Long active in politics he "has served in campaign efforts of former Governor Calvin Rampton, Utah Senator Thorpe Wad-dingham, Wad-dingham, former Senator Frank E. Moss and Congresisonal Representative Represen-tative Gunn McKay. Specially Cook sought input on the utility rate problem in Cedar City, the water issues, and the controversial con-troversial high cancer rate which has been related to the atomic tests in Nevada during the 1950's. With the slogan "Working to be your congressman," Cook has assumed a new working assignment each week end including that of sales clerk, grocery stacker, laundry worker and gas station attendant. "I want to know what Utahn's want and be in a position to meet the needs of the state as the campaign progresses," he told a group of party leaders in Cedar City. |
