Show Pa rowan Voters approve Recreation Bond PAROWAN - Residents of Parowan passed a bond election by a 2 to 1 majority last week to provide $60,000 as matching funds for a grant to be obtained from the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation. If the grant is obtained the amount of bonds actually sold will be reduced. Some of the funds will go to finance improvements at the Parowan swimming pool and swimming pool park, a pool cover is proposed to allow the pool to enjoy a longer season of use each year. Funds will also be used V to beautify the park grounds with the beautify the park grounds with the installation of a sprinkling system. Additional trees and shrubs and a fence along the East perimeter to protect children from the traffic on the canyon road. The $60,000 investment will probably cost the average homeowner an increease of $6.00 to $18 00 per year in taxes and be repaid during a period of up to 15 years. If BOR funds are obtained this would be a lesser amount, city officials stated. J |
