Show Garbage suit pending for Cedar City Street lights and garbage - two city services often taken for granted --were --were major items of business for the city council Thursday, as the last month of elected office for three local Republicans began. The council was informed that Mayor Jones has been served with a summons relating to a lawsuit initiated by D & O Sanitation Company, Com-pany, asking that their license to do business in Cedar City be reinstated. The suit also asked that they be allowed to provide refuse collection service within the corpoiae limits of Cedar City. The summons was forwarded to the city attorney for response. New Streetlights After a study was conducted for need of new city street lights, initiated by citizens the council approved placing of street lights at the intersections in-tersections of U-56 and College Way, and Highway 91 and 860 West Street (near Three Fountains). The council tabled decision on the necessity of a light at the College Way and Center Street intersection. The awarding of bids to American Fence Company, Ogden, and Ash-down Ash-down Brothers, Cedar City, were made official Thursday. Both com- panies were the apparent low bidders on two separate projects. American Fence will be constructing a security fence around the sewer effluent reservoir and Ashdowns are involved in phase two of the Leigh Hills Special Improvement District. Amtrack hearings The council appointed James Hoyle as the city's representative at Amtrack Am-track hearings to be held in Washington, D.C., relative to the possibility of a Salt Lake City-Milford-Los Angeles run being included on the Amtrack system. Th" council donated $50 to the Manning-Halverson Oratorio Society, the request coming from Wesley Larsen, secretary of the group. Golf fees for the 1978 season were set by the council, as follows: Single Adult Pass for Season-$125; man and wife--$150; full family-$190; Junior-$50; Junior-$50; College Student-$75. Quarterly,. Jan. -April--$40; May to September--$75; October . to December$40. Green fees will be Adults-$2.25; Junior and High School Students-$1.50 Students-$1.50 and College-$1.75.
