THE CARPENTERS AT CHRISTMAS The special glow of the holiday season is brightened by the personal glow of the three-time Grammy Award-winning Carpenters when their music and guests light up 'The Carpenters at Christmas,' a holiday special airing on ABC Friday, Dec. 9. "Karen and Richard Carpenter create the kind of warmth that belongs with Christmas," said Edwin T. Vane, Vice-President and National Program Director of ABC Entertainment. "The Carpenters' humor in combination with their guests also reflects the lighthearted spirit of the season." The Carpenters' guests, as Karen tries to plan a Christmas party over brother Richard's objections,, are Harvey Korman (who joins Richard in ' B singing 'Top Hat, White Tie and I Tails'), Emmy Award winner Kristy I McNichol of 'Family' (who is very pro-party, joining Karen in singing 'Christmas Alphabet') and puppeteer I Burr Tillstrom with Kukla and Ollie 1 (who are in favor pf any party any i time).
