Show Redmen face strong AF Cavemen be a critical part of the season for the Redmen. "Against the Flyers it was the pressing defense that gave us the initiative," Coach Nielsen said. "They got some cripple as a result,, but overall the pressure defense paid off for us," he commented. The Redmen will be out of the Region wars in mid week as they travel to Page Ariz, to take on Page High School in a game to be played Wednesday, Dec. 14. Cedar High School Red-men Red-men travel to American Fork in Region Six action this week to take on the Cavemen, who are billed as the team to beat for the title this yearv The game is set for 7:30 p.m. with the Junior Varisty and sophomore teams playing at 5:30 p.m. "American Fork is probably the toughest .team we will meet all year," Coach John Neilsen stated after scouting the Cavemen in action Saturday night. "They are big and they are quick. I can't emphasize how quick they are for their size but it is awesome," Neilsen said. "They have four guards that they can interchange without making any difference and they put a lot of pressure on their opponents," he said. In last week's action American Fork opened their Region Six play with a sound trounching of Payson 73-57 then came bade Saturday evening to defeat Weber High School by 15 and lead by as much as 30 during the contest. "We can't play straight basdetball with the Cavemen and win," Coach Neilsen said. He indicated that the Redmen would be throwing some dirrerent types of defenses at the Cavement to throw them off. "We will apply defensive pressure at different times. But, we must also be jprepared to handle defensive defen-sive pressure. AF's guard line demonstrated that they have the ability to apply pressure of their own," he said. We hope to get good games out of our seniors. Neilsen said. We will have to be competivite with American Fork. But most of all the Redmen will have to improve im-prove their board strength.
