Show LEAF Members hold Meeting The annual adjustment of assessed values by County Assessors was set up as an early objective by the Cedar City LEAF group at their December breakfast meeting. A long range objective is " the phasing out of property taxes that fall on buildings and personal property to be replaced by substantially higher taxes on land values. LEAF is on the agenda of the December 14 meeting of the Iron County Commission to discuss annual assessment adjustments. Also the group decided to change from an early morning weekday business meeting to a V-k hour breakfast break-fast meeting each month. The meeting will be on the first Saturday of the month starting at 8 a.m. The last half hour will be a program with a speaker or film. Earlv Hanson, secretary, attended the December 3 winter meeting of LEAF at San Francisco and saw the premiere of an outstanding new film, "This Land is Mine." California groups are also changing their time of local meetings, selecting either a morning or an afternoon af-ternoon monthly meeting on Sunday, he reports. |
