Since the play is not a SUSC campus-community production, SUSC students will not be admitted free with their activity cards. "The Misanthrope" is considered by many critics to be Moliere's masterpiece. The central plot is a satirical' and entertaining story based on the superficiality and hypocrisy of seventheenth century society and one young man who insists on ruthless honesty with all his relationships. "Audiences who have seen productions of this translation tran-slation by American poet Richard Wilbur find it difficult dif-ficult to believe it was written by Moliere in 1666, and not a play written in modern times," Phillips said. "We are very pleased to have this professional company appear at SUSC. Last year's Pioneer State Theatre Foundation presentation of 'Sleuth' was a delightful production," he said. Stars for "The Misanthrope" Misan-thrope" are Sam Tsout-souvas, Tsout-souvas, a familiar actor with ( the Utah Shakespearean Festival who appeared last year as Milo Tindle in "Sleuth," and Madelon Thomas who thrilled Utah audiences with her performance per-formance as Annie Sullivan in "The Mircle Worker" last season at Pioneer Memorial Theatre.
