Show Begin Plans For Fourth Of July CENTERVILLE -- Tentative plans for Centervil-le's Centervil-le's annual July 4th celebration were discussed by the City Council last week. CARVEL Harward, general chairman, representing represent-ing the Centerville Rotary Club, said activities will be about the same as previous years but with additional addi-tional activities as suggested by the council. One suggestion made was to resume the street dance which had been held in previous years but was not held last year. Also recommended was a tennis tournament which would have the preliminary rounds played before July 4 and the finals played during the celebration. OTHER ACTIVITIES include a children's parade and a talent and variety show planned on Saturday, July 2. Events on Monday, July 4, would include a parade, distance run, carnival, sports events, children's chil-dren's games, an auction, chuckwagon breakfast, art festival, and other special events. Mr. Harward said the celebration committee would work out time schedules for the various events and have them approved by the Council. |
