Show West Bountiful By ALICE MITCHELL The greatest topic of consideration con-sideration in the past week, as for many months, has been that of the weather. During the week there were days reminiscent reminis-cent of summer, days of spring and days of winter. There has been water in several sev-eral basements and sump pumps going day and night. Everyone is anxiously awaiting await-ing the spring runoffs, when the snow in the mountains melt and start down to the west. It is supposed that there will be great amounts of water in the ditches. Sand bags are still ready at the county. Citizens have been cleaning out the ditches on their property and close to it. At any rate, the daffodils and tulips which have come up and bloomed have been very colorful. The fruit trees are in blossom and there is hope there will be some fruit at the end of the season. The lawns and bushes have been a beautiful green each time the ice, hail and snow melts. The students of Allyson Taylor held their recital on April 26 at the South Davis Branch Library. The children who performed were Trent Willey, Lisa Rogers, Travis Chaston, Angela Derbidge, Kym Chaston, Brad Barrus, Mary Hamilton, Lisa Anderson, Ander-son, Corrie Wild, April Derbidge, Der-bidge, Tony Perkins, Esther Miller, Mike Hamilton, Mary Hamilton, Alma Miller. Guest soloist was Jae Ann Atwood. After the LaMar Bangerter wedding, some of the granddaughters grand-daughters of Lydia Bangerter stayed with her for a visit. Last Saturday the Priests of the 1st Ward went to Lagoon to particate in the demolition derby. On May 7 the Young Men and Women will be having a car wash located at 1600 N. and Main Street in Bountiful. Little Monica Bangerter, daughter of the J.R. Banger-ters Banger-ters accidently broke her ankle on the trampoline. She has been on crutches. The Bill Birds have really had a siege of chicken pox. The baby has been especially ill. Arlene Morris has returned from her winter stay in North Carolina. She was happy to be with her mother during her 90th birthday festivities. Her son Wayne had been in the area on business, so he brought Arlene home with him to West Bountiful. Eileen Jeppson traveled to Afton, Wyo., to take her mother up to stay with her relatives rela-tives in the area. The 4th graders of the West Bountiful Elementary School held their yearly program for parents and other patrons. The theme of the program was "One Fourth Grade of Song." They sang songs about all of the months of the school year. The teachers in charge were Mrs. Henderson, Mrs. Weaver Weav-er and Mrs. Kirkland. The Con Alders moved into the former Terry Green home. Richard and Debbie Rowe are announcing the birth of their new baby girl. Grandma came down from Idaho to help with the family during Debbie's De-bbie's recovery. Welcome to the Dan Loveless Love-less family, who have moved into a home on Pages Lane. Pam Slaugh, daughter of the Calvin Slaughs, is enjoying her skating lessons at the Bubble. She has been on the school citizenship honor roll for three quarters. Richard Slaugh had fun at the Scout Camporee at Zarahemla. Bob McKinnon is recovering recover-ing from surgery. The Glen Haslams report that their son Ty has been made executive secretary in the Spencer 3rd Ward, near Magna. Amy Nelson has been hospitalized hos-pitalized again but is at home recuperating slowly. Irv. Layton is feeling a bit better. Courtney Johnson, daughter daugh-ter of the Roy Johnsons, is celebrating her birthday on May 7. She is now 14 years of age. Ruby Olsen's daughter Virginia Vir-ginia has gone back to California. Cali-fornia. Richard Paget and family visited vi-sited in West Bountiful from Montana. The Ariel Millers attended some of the wedding festivities of a nephew. |
