Show WX Jazz Band Readies Concert Once again, the invitation to "Swing to the Sounds of the Big Band Era" is extended to the public for a dance to be held on Friday, May 6 from 8:30-11 p.m. at the Woods Cross High School gym. AS THE posters and flyers distributed throughout the valley val-ley indicate, this event has been "brought back by popular popu-lar demand," due to the overwhelming over-whelming response from those who attended the Woodchop-per's Woodchop-per's Ball earlier this year. The music of Benny Goodman, Good-man, Glen Miller, Woody Her- man and more, will be presented pre-sented by the 22-member Woods Cross Jazz Band, under the direction of Stephen Richins. The band is big in its own right - having earned the top, competitive awards throughout Utah and the western west-ern United States for several years. THOSE WHO enjoy ballroom bal-lroom dancing and great music from the "big band" era will not want to miss this evening of fine entertainment. The dance is being sponsored spon-sored by the Woods Cross Band Boosters, in an effort to raise much needed funds for the instrumental music department. depart-ment. All tickets-donations are tax deductible. Community Commun-ity support is urged and appreciated. appre-ciated. THE COST for the dance, including refreshments, is only $5 per person; $8 per couple; and senior citizens are half price. For advance tickets and information, in-formation, call 295-6970 or 295-2068. Tickets will also be sold at the door, beginning at 8:15 p.m. on May 6. |
