Davis won the region crown w ith a 7-1 -2 crd with Viewmont finishing second with a 1 mark. Davis gets an automatic berth into lh state even while the Vikes will host a third P,a team from another region on Friday. A good crowd was treated to one of the better games of the year with the Vikes prevailing 3-2. WOODS CROSS goalie Scott Longson was the main reason the Vikes couldn't score early as he turned away every effort the Vikings made. But then Joey Smith took a long throw in for the Vikes and after a head ball the ball found itself on the left foot of Brian Beecher who volled it into the lower part of the net for a 1-0 advantage. The Vikes increased their lead with a great goal from Vernaun Gines, who is on a goal scoring spree. Vernaun gathered in a long pass down the right wing and then cut back into the middle elu-Jing two defenders. H- then let go w ith a left footed shot that found the upper left corner of the net. Woods Cross pulled one goal back just before be-fore half when Kirt Dyches scored from the penalty spot. Kirt missed his first effort but the official ruled the goalie had moved and had ihe kick retaken, the second time Dyches didn't miss. In the East win Scott Lindquist scored a pair of goals with David Stunt and Kirt Dyches each scoring one. DAVIS FINISHED league play with a flurry last week. After dropping that 3-2 decision to Viewmont the Darts came back with fire in their eyes to down Highland 7-0 and then Bountiful 6-0.
