Show Helen Marr Miller DUP The Farmington Helen Man-Miller Man-Miller DUP Camp, held their monthly meeting on April 25 at the home of Kathy Hess, granddaughter of the late Margaret Mar-garet Hess. IRENE Olsen, captain conducted con-ducted and hostesses were Gloria and Kathy Hess. They served a chicken salad, hot rolls and dessert. Gloria Hess gave the blessing on the food and the pledge of allegiance was led by Ruth Brown. Special guests were Ruth Logan and Rosa Peters. Rosa played the guitar and Ruth the accordion. They accompanied the club's song practice of the theme song "Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. ' ' They then entertained en-tertained the camp with a number num-ber of older songs, among them "Elvira Waltz," "Evening "Even-ing Star Waltz," "The Chicago Chica-go Glide" "Josephine," "White Mountain Polka," and several others. Ruth Logan is very talented, among other activities she also had a dance studio in California for years. JUNE SWANER told of the many attributes of Marvel Mayfield, and Irene Olsen gave her a gift from the camp for her 83rd birthday, which she celebrated on April 12. Alice Johnson gave the history his-tory of Mary Larsen Ahlstrom, an early pioneer relative of her husbands. She displayed a Swedish bridal set, a crystal tray, pitcher, and two glasses that were over 300 years old, and has the Swedish reindeer pattern on it. Alice Johnson presented a pillowcase, made by Mary Larson Ahlstrom, to the camp to put in their cabin. Gloria Hess presented the ' camp with a photograph of Margaret Hess for the cabin. MAUDE Mayfield gave the lesson on "Western Trails." Those present were Marvel Mayfield, Alice Murray, The-da The-da Judd, Enid Seiger, Irene Olsen, Ethel Perry, Elzada Hess, Maude Mayfield, Minni Lund, Wilma Miller, June Swaner, Clara Richards and Ruth Brown. |
