I The game, which was I delayed for about IS minutes I when a sprinkler blew its I top, started out as a see-saw I affair. Twice during the first I half the High Rollers took a one-goal lead, and twice Hill tied the score. Two of the younger members mem-bers of the Park City squad teamed up to open the scoring. Shawn Hazelrigg, playing left wing, fed a pass across the goal mouth. Paul Carpenter, playing the ball perfectly made a diving stab feet first to deflect the ball into the net. After the Hill squad had tied the score, Scott Williams put the High Rollers ahead 2-1, booting the ball into an open net after the goalie had been pulled out of position. Again Hill came right back. High Roller Mike Walker found himself caught upfield, allowing a Hill forward to go in alone on goalie Mark Cole. "Maybe I'm slowing down," Walker wondered later. "I dunno." After the teams had changed ends, giving the High Rollers the sun at their back, Jordan Swenson put the home team ahead for good with a high, spinning shot which just dipped under the crossbar. Paul Carpenter Carpen-ter added an insurance goal later, picking up a rebound and slamming it into the net while the goalie was on the ground. Walker said the team benefitted greatly from the presence of the Dollhausen brothers, Carl and Greg, who anchor the middle of the field at halfback and fullback, full-back, respectively. "I thought both Carl and Greg played well," Walker said. "They don't back off... they just go for the ball." The High Rollers will attempt to improve their league record to 2-1 Saturday Satur-day with a game against Murray on the high school field. The game is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. |
