Show manks to the Park City and Salt Lake City businesses who supported "Autumn Aloft" as balloon sponsors and served as crew members for their balloons. Thanks go to the people of Park City, for without their support and willingness to get up early each morning, mor-ning, the first "Autumn Aloft" wouldn't have been so much fun. The ChamberBureau is already planning next year's "Autumn Aloft." Thanks to all for bringing such color and fun to Park City this past weekend. A perfect end to summer To the editor: Last weekend, Park City fell in love with the magnificent sport of hot air ballooning. The first Park City "Autumn Aloft" proved to be the perfect per-fect closing event for our summer season. The great success of the weekend insures that Autumn Aloft will become an annual event. The staff of the Park City ChamberBureau Cham-berBureau would like to thank everyone who made our first Park City "Autumn Aloft" a reality. Many thanks to Gene Moser, the president of the Park City Balloon Club, for his big heart and smile, and for making it all happen; to the members mem-bers of the Park City Balloon Club, especially Spence Smith, Norm Nelson, Marialice Kendrick, Nancy Nipkow, Dick Andrews, Steve Coontz, Lavern Moser, Fred Birch, Linda Martin Mar-tin and Van Martin for their interest and commitment to detail; to Marilyn and Tom Nevison for their unending un-ending patience, enthusiasm and organization; to Patrick Michaels and Dr. Joan Challinor for bringing the Treaty of Paris Balloon to Utah, and offering so many balloon rides; to Enoch Smith and the Park Meadows Country Club for the use of their wonderful won-derful facilities and golf course; to the staff at RCV, Inc. for the use of their gorgeous condominiums; to Sneakers, Scrooge's and Frankie's for serving breakfast so early; to Frank Bell and the Park City Police Department; to Kae Draper and Park City Transit for providing the buses; and to all those who participated in the field events and entertainment for all. American Express deserves special recognition for taking a chance sponsoring spon-soring an unproven event. Their financial finan-cial commitment made the event possible and their involvement brought prestige to the festivities. |
