''''''' V Joseph Silverstein, Utah Symphon artistic director Silverstein to conduct second symphony subscription concert Utah Symphony's new artistic director, Joseph Silverstein, Sil-verstein, will return to the podium to conduct the Utah Symphony in the second concert of its subscription series on Friday and Saturday, Satur-day, Sept. 23 and 24, in Symphony Hall. This same concert will open the Ogden subscription series on Thurs day, Sept. 22, at the Val. A. Browning Center for the Performing Arts in Ogden. All performances begin at 8 p.m. Silverstein, internationally-acclaimed conductor and violinist, assumed his post as artistic director of the Utah Symphony with the gala opening concerts Sept, 8, 9 and 10. King Lear Overture by Berlioz will open this weekend's week-end's concerts, followed by Mendelssohn's Nocturne, Scherzo, Intermezzo and Wedding March from "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Symphony No. 1 by Shostakovich will be the concluding work. Tickets for the Salt Lake concerts are available at the Utah Symphony Box Office, 533-6407, with prices set at $8, $10, $13, $16, $18, $20 and $50.
