Show Calling all nature photographers The Utah Museum of Natural History is once again sponsoring the juried photography exhibit "Intimate Landscapes." Local nature photographers are welcome to submit up to two photographs of "natural environments where the hand of man has had little or no influence." The entries must be received Oct. 3-4 at the museum which is located on the University of Utah campus. There is a $5 entry fee per person. The photographs should be framed in glass or plexiglass and ready to hang. The entries will be juried by Philip Hyde who is the authorphotographer of several books on the American West including Slickrock, Navajo Wildlands and the Glen Canyon Portfolio. Hyde will give a lecture at the Union Ballroom in the Olpin Union Building at the University at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 11. Admission for the lecture is $3. He will conduct a two-day workshop from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 11 and 12 and the exhibit will open at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 12. Tuition for the workshop is $150. Admission will be limited to 15 students so call 581-6927 to preregister. Eliot Porter had originally planned to jury the show but due to a recent illness he was unable to come to Utah. |
