s WOMEN ARE CAREFUL AUTDIVIOBILt DRIVERS Discussing the question of careful auto drivers, Manager P. J. O'Carroll of the Pacific-Nash Motor company, very emphatically upholds women. He says that as a rule women are more observing than men and, as a result, more readily sense dangerous situations, situa-tions, which leads immediately to careful care-ful operation of the car. lie says: j "Habitual indulgence in outdoor sports has instilled in many women drivers a selfreliancc and mental poise that proves invaluable when piloting the car through traffic." explains O'Carroll. "There arc many women whose control at the wheel inspires admiration and often excites envy among the men drivers. . "Any woman who will take the trouble to learn what is going on inside in-side the 'works' of a motor car will become be-come a successful driver. Changing gears is not more difficult for a woman who understands her car than running a sowing machine. "She should know how to operate the manual controls which are provided provid-ed on most cars for the adjustment ot the carbureter; she should know that If it fires back through the carbureter carbu-reter that she has cut her mixture down too lean; In short, she should be able to determine from tho sound of her motor when it is working efficiently. effi-ciently.
