Show IV Ogden Chamber of Commerce to Start I Drive For Members I Aim to Increase Revenue and Put Money to Building Up to ' City, Increase the Population and i Beautify Surroundings I A sweeping drive to increase both the membership and revenue of the Ogden chamuor of commerce and to : develop a comprehensive progTam ot activities may soon bo inaugurated and carried into every business Institution of tho city, accord- Ing to an announcement made yesterday by O. J. Stilwell, secretary of tho chamber of commorce. A committee com-mittee headed by John Spargo has been appointed and is now investigating investigat-ing the feasibility of putting such a campaign into action. In tho plan appears feasiblo and la undertaken by the chamber of commerce, com-merce, the largest campaign in the history of Ogden will result, according accord-ing to the announcement. Tho drive will bo conducted In connection with the American bureau of New York, and an entirely new idea for increasing increas-ing memberships and revenuo of chambers of commerce throughout the United States will be put in motion I Drive at Boise The city of Boise, Idaho, has .lust completed a drive similar to that which may be held here and tho re sults of tho Boiso campaign wero exceptionally ex-ceptionally successful. A survey of the work carried on thoro in connection with the drive was made by Mr. Stilwell Stil-well while he was In EoIbc during tho P. recent Rotary club convention. The , membership of the Bolso chamber of ' commerce was increased from 760 members to 1913 as a result of tho campaign and the revenues were Increased In-creased from $16,160 to $16,355. Tho drive was completed within two weeks' time. The special committoo which has been appointed for the Investigation j of the feasibility of the plan arc now making an extensive survey of tho proposed drive and Its possibilities and will report either the acceptance or flH tho abandonment of the plan within a few days.
