Kristensen was the "Birds" lop hitter all season and led them with a .384 average. He also belted two homoruns and drove in 18. Kristensen was also a letterman in football as a starting tightend. T-bird baseball players garner honors Three Southern Utah State baseball players have earned honors from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and NAIA District 7. Ed Kristensen, Dave Sargent and Lyle Anderson were all named to the All-KMAC Team while Kristensen and Sargent were also named to the NAIA District 7 Team. Sargent, a senior from Magna, Utah, and a four-year letterman was named as a utility man on the All-KMAC team and at second base on the District 7 team. During the season he batted .309 with four homeruns and 20 RBI's. He led the team with a .607 slugging percentage. He was also named the teams most valuable player. Anderson, a senior from Thermal, California and College of Desert was named as catcher to the All-KMAC team. During the season he batted .259 with four homeruns and 16 RBI's. He |
