Show Joint commission honors VVMC of patient care. The Valley View Medical Center is an accredited hospital, having received the JCAH seal of excellence continuously since 1970. The Valley View Medical Center has been honored with a certificate of recognition by the Joint Commission on Accreditation Ac-creditation of Hospitals (JCAH). The certificate, signed by John D. Porterfield, M.D. Director of the Joint Commission, reads as follows: "During National Hospital. Week, the Joint Commission takes special pleasure in recognizing your continuing commitment to the quality of patient care through voluntary accreditation. We proudly salute you as one of nearly 4800 accredited ac-credited hospitals in the Nation who have chosen to strive to deliver the optimum in health service to the community." Accreditation indicates that a facility has chosen to perform within professionally developed standards of the JCAH and that the facility has substantially complied with these standards. The standards, published as the "Accreditation Manual for Hospitals," set forth optimal achievable goals of excellence against which a facility can measure itself and be measured in turn by the Joint Commission's Com-mission's survey. The JCAH's accreditation surveys are voluntary. Facilities have sought accreditation in furtherance of their pursuit of excellence and' a higher quality |
